Why we run Endangered Travel Africa (ETA).
What it stands for, what it means when you travel, using our services.
While Africa has 53 countries, our focus is on a limited number, ensure a premium tourism experience. Countries we know. And while you experience this incredible continent, we have partnered with the continent’s leading Conservation Non-Profit organisation. A 50-year pedigree with hands on working groups across the sub region doing real work, on the ground. And 50% of our profit goes directly to the Endangered Wildlife Trust – not some small percentage – but a full 50%.
No travel company is as committed to our continent’s conservation wellbeing and our mission at ETA is simply: Promoting – travel to Africa & conservation in Africa.
The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) is a South African nonprofit organisation focused on the conservation of endangered species and ecosystems. The EWT plays a crucial role in protecting South Africa’s endangered wildlife and promoting broader biodiversity conservation across Africa.
Their work spans across various areas, including:
Wildlife Protection
The EWT works to protect endangered species such as rhinos, cheetahs, African wild dogs, and vultures, through field conservation efforts and collaborations with other conservation organisations, governments, and local communities.
Habitat Conservation
They focus on preserving critical habitats, including wetlands, grasslands, and forests, to ensure the survival of wildlife populations.
Research and Monitoring
The EWT conducts scientific research and provides data on the status of endangered species, helping inform conservation strategies and policies.
Community Engagement
They actively involve local communities in conservation efforts, providing education and creating jobs to help ensure sustainable, long-term protection of wildlife and habitats.
Species Recovery Programs
The EWT runs specific programs aimed at recovering endangered species, such as captive breeding programs, relocation initiatives, and anti-poaching efforts.
Advocacy and Policy
The organisation advocates for stronger environmental policies and works to influence conservation legislation at local, national, and international levels.
